  • Supercross BMX Factory Team goes GLOBAL!

    4 min read

Factory Supercross global weekend effort went down this past weekend and the team was literally all over the place! The bulk of the team was at the USABMX HQ in Tulsa for the Legacy national paired with the USAC national championship as well. The coveted patriotic sleeves were up for grabs and the UCI classes were similar to our featured hubs; you could say they had a killer buzz in the air. Gaige Gomolicke went 2 for 3 over the weekend grabbing 2 big wins and then made the SuperX main and has shown his comfort on the big hill.

Joining Gaige on the big hill was Josh White who would also make the big show and grab a few podiums in his class racing this weekend. Not even a crash would slow him down and he has shown great form as he builds up to the UCI worlds in just under 100 days.

Kaiden Ireland was going fast and pulled a few scores and Scooooooooops hung around the podium and has been hungry to start stacking the wins again.

David Ramey unfortunately took a spill Saturday and will be out for a few weeks healing up a wing and we want to wish him healing vibes but surely he will be back!

Our big dogs as we call them KJ Romero and Spencer Cole were seen leading laps all weekend long. For KJ it was another pair of podiums and he has been consistently stacking scores toward a run at that Vet title. KJ should be primed by grands and with a few other vet guys the title really is up for grabs this year.

Spencer had some deep runs in qualifying and made the semi mains both days so the training is looking good and count him for a few more B main appearances and with the new points structure those valuable points earned will count toward year end rankings. Sunday was U23 day and Spencer and the crew were all going way fast through the day with a few guys looking toward having a shot at a title. In the U23 main Spencer would have a great first straight and get to the turn with a slight lead and 7 of the fastest guys in tow and everyone was definitely hungry and jockeying for position. Things got tight and sometimes threading the needle works and sometimes you have to go back to the drawing board. Spencer did all he could and at the exit of the turn a few riders went down and collected Spencer in the process. Although credit is due for a very well executed high speed nose wheelie but the freestyle competition is later in the year so we will get that dialed and come back again. Heartbreaker for sure but that's what makes racing at a high level so rewarding because it is always never guaranteed. Dust our Fly Racing pants off and get back to the next one!

On the international side of things the Nor-Cal crew of Deegan Brown and Nick Valencia would opt for the kickoff to the Canadian series and try some racing just over the border. Clean sweep for Deegan as he would snag 3 wins to further his NAG effort. Valencia the bridesmaid would grab a slew of 2nd place finishes and then stumble into a cruiser win on Sunday. For being the team manager he sometimes can even pedal pretty decent and word on the street is he has a new Vision F1 build in the works?!?! Can't wait to see it and guess what colorway he went with.

Lastly on the international side of things Vineta Petersone and Louison were in Latvia for Euro rounds 5/6. Vineta has been cleared to get back to race action and was back on the big hill. She is getting comfortable and back to form and was nice to see her get a home race before the travel kicks off for her. Louison was riding well and continues to work towards stacking points for a French national team position that is arguably the country with the most depth of all the teams out there.

Weather is nice and now that you saw where we were all weekend, question is where did your Supercross take you?
