    Q&A WITH Lexis

Tell me about yourself. Who are you? How old are you? What class do you currently race? When did you start racing? How did you start racing? Etc.
Hi! I am Lexis Colby, 21 year old Women's Elite from Surprise, Arizona. About 17 years ago my Dad took me out to Black Mountain BMX for the first time. Back then I was obsessed with dirtbikes and needed to learn some bike control, but then I fell in love with the sport. I am so thankful that he showed me the sport I found forever joy in.

What are some of your biggest achievements within the sport?
Some of my biggest achievements in this sport would have to be making the USA cycling national team as well as making a World Cup final. I also got to check off my two wins as an elite this year, but I am also just as proud of the friendships and family that I have made through this entire journey.

How long have you been on factory Supercross? What year did you get picked up?
2024 was actually my first year on Supercross. Bubba Harris had reached out to me about joining the program and I knew he wanted the best for me seeing as I had looked up to him since a young age. Shortly after I had talked to Bill and found my home!

What's your favorite thing about BMX Racing and Why?
My favorite think about BMX racing is that it is both an individual and team sport. You have the side of the self discipline and drive to be the best which can be thrilling and competitive. On the other side, you have the team, family, friends, and all of the people who have helped you along the way. I think that it's a very special and unique thing.

    What’s your current local track?
My current home track is Black Mountain BMX, ran by none other than Bad Bubba Harris.

What are your hobbies outside of racing?
Outside of racing I really enjoy just getting to spend time with my friends and family. I also try to learn how to line dance from time to time but it never really works out haha.

What are some of your goals of BMX Racing?

My goals within racing would be to get an Olympic Medal, become a world Champion, and even win a USA BMX title. But I also hope to have put everything into this sport by being a good racer, friend, role model, or making any sort of impact by the time that I retire.

What is your favorite memory that you've had while racing BMX?

It's really difficult to pick just one memory, but a main one that sticks out would have to be making my first World Cup Final. I have always dreamed of it since I was young and I finally made my dream a reality. Another thing would also be all the different places I have been able to travel to while riding my bike.
