Q&A WITH Hannah
Tell me about yourself. Who are you? How old are you? What class do you currently race? When did you start racing? How did you start racing? Etc.
My name is "Hurricane" Hannah Leakey. I am 15 years old, I race 15-16 Expert Girls and 15-16 Girls Cruiser. I started riding when I was 5 years old and racing when I turned 6. I started riding to get better at riding my motorcycle, but I fell in love with the sport and haven't looked back. My dad found out about BMX from a guy he worked in the fire department with. We went to watch his sons race at Black Mountain on a Friday night, and after that, I begged my dad to let me try it until eventually he did.
What are some of your biggest achievements within the sport?
Some of my biggest achievements are making Team USA in 2017, earning a top 10 NAG plate since 2017, earning a NAG plate after missing half of the season after surgery, being 3x Top Gun, making the NAG 5 Challenge in 2021 & 2022, becoming a mentor for younger riders and girls, and becoming a member of the Supercross family.

What are your hobbies outside of racing?
Outside of BMX, I play club and high school lacrosse. I enjoy reading, photography, editing photos and videos, and going to the gym.
What are some of your goals for your racing career?
Some of my goals are to earn a world plate, win grands, eventually go pro and possibly the 2028 LA Olympics.
What is your favorite dessert?
My favorite food is lasagna and my favorite dessert is Thrifty bubblegum ice cream

My brother Austin and Niek Kimmann
Tell us about your favorite race and why?
My favorite race was Stars & Stripes in Ohio this past year. It was a special daddy-daughter trip. We got a hemi Challenger as our rental car and my dad taught me how to do burnouts.
