I think Mikey is getting pretty sick and tired of assembling stems and boxes. But when the Machine shop drops off all the parts someone has to do the assembly and Mikey is just the guy to do it. Just think your new Supercross BMX Racing Stem was hand assembled by one of the top ten Pro's in the nation.

AA Pro Mikey Brabant hard at work assembling Supercross BMX Stems

Luckily he only had to assemble the first 150 stems today as the WHITE ones aren't back from Powdercoat yet. Yep, for all of you who have been asking for the Racerhead Stems in White, we did it, we took 25 of each size over to the coaters to get done WHITE. So they are in limited supply so if you want a WHITE one you might want to call your favorite BMX Shop today or order on-line on our shop page.

The ABA Gators finished off well, Courtney made the Women's Pro Main again along with On The Gate / Supercross' Krystal Hime. Jimmy had some tough moto's in AA Pro and is back in Phoenix getting ready for Black Mountain, Bakari won Cruiser again and took a 4th on 17/18x with Kalvin following him in for a 5th. And Johnnie Mac took a 3rd in 11x. Overall a great weekend.

Now back down under in Australia, Anders had a great Saturday and ended up SUnday with a cast on his arm.

At least he is still in good spirits. With both he and training partner Sifisio being hurt they have decided to extend thier stay in Australia for another month before going home. Anders is hoping the cast will be off in a week and he can get back training.

Also this week we have been getting a ton of e-mails on our Spindrive Pro LT Cassette hubs. The main question we have been gettign is are they Shimano compatable for the cassette gears, which, yes they are and also everyone wants to know how much or better, how little they weigh. Well the below shot is on our UPS scale which is not fully gram accurate, but for both hubs with the end bolts, the 16t cro-mo rear cog and the cro-mo lock ring they are 1.4lbs for the COMPLETE set.

Or for you gram counters 627.2 grams. Check them out at your local Authorized Supercross BMX Dealer or grab some from our shop page today.

Now on the subject of Shops, we have had some confussion this week, with the new CPSC laws one of our distributors has blocked the sale of some of our items that we are still waiting on Independant 3rd party CPSC testing, so we had over 30 shops call this last week wanting to know why we were cutting off thier dealer accounts, which we were not. It was just that the Distributor is complying to the letter of the new CPSIA law. We have also had a few shops say that we are going out of business, which is not the case we have been around for 20 years and are planning for at least 20 more. If your local Supercross BMX dealer normally buy's thier Supercross BMX Product through one of our distributors and is having trouble getting an item for you, have them call us direct, we will be glad to take care of them for you.

Lot s of racing going on worldwide today. Lets start off down under in Aidelaide where they were running the UCI Oceanic races and our own Anders Gronsund took a strong 4th in Mens Elite! Congrats Anders, great way to start the season.

Back up here in North America we had the ABA Gators going on in Oldsmar, FL. Jimmy is still getting his feet wet in AA Pro or Mens Elite as it was today on UCI day, and made it to his quarters. In Womens Pro we had Courtney make it in to the main along with On The Gate /Supercross's Krystal Hime. Krystal took a 4th for the day with Courtney taking a 6th. On the Amatuer side of the day, Kalvin came back strong from his collarbone break and took a second in 17/18x today, and Bakari in his first race of the season won cruiser, but missed the cut in class, then Johnnie Mac took a 5th in 11x. More updates tomorrow and be sure to watch it live on go211.com.

The ABA Gator Nationals are this weekend in sunny Florida! We just have a few riders showing up fo this one, Jimmy Brown flew on down since he is still int he states, Courtney Tomei made the trip out east. Bakari decided to kick the year off close to home, Kalvin Davis is on the way there to get a bit of track tiem in with his freshly healed up collarbone, Brandon Macleod came down from the frozen tundra of the north and Little Johnnie Mac made the trip to pick up a few points. It will be live webcast on Go211.com this weekend so make sure you tune in and see the great BMX Racing action!

Now in other team news, we had said that the team was full up, but every once in a while a rider comes along that you just have to work with and at the current time we did not have any full factory riders down under in New Zealand, and it is just one of those things that seems meant to be. 17 years ago we got a phone call from Todd Steen while he was on a Clinic Tour with Rich Bartlett from Block, and he said that we HAD to hook this kid up, that kid was none other than Ken Cools, the Big Rig, aka Sam's big brother, the New Zealand BMX coach, I think you get the idea. So when we got a phone call yesterday from Ken saying, "Bill, you have to hook this kid up", it was a real easy decision to make, and after Mikey B and Kris checked out the kid's style and saw he was a dirt jumper as well, it was a decided. So with that, we would like to introduce you to a name you will have to get used to hearing and seeing at the races worldwide, Kurt Pickard.

Kurt races Junior Elite now and will be training with Big Rig and the entire New Zealand Squad and will get to travel a bit to North America this summer. So you can't say you have not been warned. More updates over the weekend from the ABA Gator's.

Got the new BMX Plus! in the mail today, they did a "Project Speed Jumper " build up where they tried to build the best all around use Trails and Race bike. We were thankful that they included our R-CR in the 4 frames that they would recomend for this type of build ( wait until they see the new 2009 model ).

And we were super stoked that chose our hubs as thier #1 choice with our Supercross SpinDrive Pro LT Cassette hubs.

We have had a lot of people get real excited about our hubs lately, seems that they are finally starting to catch on, Sam and Kenth have always ran them and heck they did great with Sam at the Olympics and Mikey B, loves his hubs, he says that they are the best spinning and riding hubs he has ever had. And they are PURPLE. And Mikey has had some pretty big name hubs on his bike. Now the Purple ones were done special for Mikey B, but we do have new Red, Blue, and Gold ones to go along with the regular Black and White hubs. So if you are looking for a good no great set of hubs for your Race Bike or your Jump bike be sure to check them out.

Now while mentioning Mikey B, yesterday we gave Mikey a crash course on product design and we sat down and designed up a new Jump stem for his Park Bike, and he is so stoked with it, he wants to run them on his Race Bike and his park bike. So we walked the drawing over to the machine shop and they are going to knock out a proto for Mikey this week and we may have a new stem to add to our Racerhead Stem line. Our current Pro Stems come in the 45mm, 55mm, and 65 mm lengths for the pro sizes. Mikey wanted something in between so it is a 50mm stem and he likes the front loaders rather than the top loaders, so that is all we are going to say until you get to see the photos. More updates later thsi week as everyone gets ready to head down to Florida.

2009 is the twenty year anniversary of Supercross BMX, hard to believe it as it seems as it was just yesterday when we brought the first prototype frame home and started this crazy journey. Well we have started on the new 2009 Catalog and we have a special little part planned and that is where we are going to call on you, the Supercross BMX readers and fans. We want to do a build of the original Supercross BMX bike that we started this whole journey with. Unfortunately we do not have the original frame and fork anymore as it was stolen out of Todd Anderson's Honda Civic Hatchback when we lived in this shady little apartment in Mission Hills. I am sure someone in the San Fernando Valley still has it, but good luck ever finding it. Right? Anyways, we want to build a replica, so all you Vintagebmx.com fans this call out is for you. We are planning a few special projects to be released for the 2009 Summer and Fall which is when we started Supercross BMX. So we are going to hold a little contest to see who can come the closest to building up a replica of the original 1989 Supercross BMX bike and it will be featured in the 2009 Supercross 20 year anniversary catalog, and on our website and there will be some special prizes that are secret and we can not announce yet, but we know you will be stoked. All submissions of photos need to be here no later than March 15th, 2009. We will decide upon the winner if any by March 30th. 2009. The original Bike had a few parts changes from time to time, but we are trying to get it to be as close to the original as possible. We will offer some other prizes if anyone is able to track down any of the other original items. The Original Supercross Cro-mo StrongArm Cranks, ( only 7 sets of these were made ) The Original Supercross Pro Bars with Renthal Type Cross Bar ( only 25 pair of these were made ) , The original Supercross BMX 1" Threadless Pro Fork and Stem Combo ( there were 100 sets of these made ), and the original Supercross BMX Bodyless hubs ( there were only 3 sets of these made, this will be the hard one to find ).

Oh and we had a few birthdays this week. First Randy Little had his birthday yesterday and today is Kris Fox's 20th!! Happy Birthday!!!

For those of you wondering, we heard from Shane at BMXultra.com yesterday and he and his girlfriend and house are fine. But it has been a horrific thing with houses right next door exploding in to flames. I asked Shane if there was anything we could do and he asked if we could post up a link for donations to the Australian Red Cross as he said that without them, he and all the surrvivors in his area would not be able to sustain. He said that they are providing food, fuel, and anything else he nees to continue while they get this all under control. And to think that they believe it is arson and that it was set purposely is beyond me why anyone would or could do anything like this. So if you would like to help out here is the information.

The ABA So.Cal Nationals were a total mudfest, and a total blast. The ABA and the Lake Perris Crew were doing everything they could to keep the track raceable and Mike Redman's announcing was keeping everyone laughing and entertained all weekend! If you ever had a doubt of who the best announcer in the world was, Mike left no doubt in anyones mind this weekend. "What's the Crab Count Sig?" will be remembered forever.

A few of our riders had heard that it was going to be a mud fest and had pretty big plans for the following week so skipped the fun in the mud while getting ready for the other agenda items. Sam is leaving for Switzerland this week and would rather show up for training not broken, and Kenth has a trade show for his Wife's new clothing company "Lala" this week and is in charge of booth set up so he skipped th eweekend as well. Those of the team that decided to play in the mud had a great time regardless of the rain. Jimmy Brown

started off the year here in Perris, Kris Fox came out to play in the mud, and as you can see by thier expressions they were not too stoked to be racing in it.

Mikey B was feeling good and ready for the weekend, Kaila Sweeney flew down with some of the Canadian National team, Courtney had a short drive over, and on the amatuer side Kyliegh Kalapaca made the short trip, Allison Sennett had a few off ramps to go to get to the track, Ashley Shrader was ready to run in the mud and Tucker Norman conned his dad into bringing him in from Vegas to play in the slop. The weekend started out with a rain delay and the UCI race being moved from Saturday to Sunday. As we all stood around in the pits we were glad we were on the high ground side of the Pit's as our ground was fairly dry compared to lower pits which had pools forming in their pits. Luckily Barney and a few of the others remembered to bring rain slickers for everyone.

When they finally got the races under way, I felt bad for Courtney who had to take the first lap on the track in the mud, from lane 8 where she had a huge puddle straight in front of her as she hit the first jump. Needless to say wearing the WHITE No Fear Spectrum pants was probably not the best plan for the weekend, but they looked great.

After the first rack of Women Pro's went everyones confidence got a bit higher as there was not the carnage in the mud everyone was expecting. Kaila was up next with a hot lap placing top 4, then Jimmy with a 3 in his first round of AA Pro for the weekend.

Then Mikey B pulled off a hot lap with a great gate placing top 4,

and then it was Kris's turn for his first AA Pro Lap ever. Kris had a great gate, hit the first turn in third passing into second and then the mud slipped away from under him as he started to slide up to the top of the first turn. Kris unclipped put a foot down and kept from going down in the mud and re-injuring his ankle, but that was it for the weekend for him in the cold and mud.

Then it came time for the Am's. Ashley decided to ride her bike to staging to get used to the slippery stuff.

And in the mud most everyone made it through to thier mains. Allison still had a smile all weekend long even after what they thought was a broken wrist in her first round of class on Saturday morning, she toughed it out and made all 4 mains.

On Sunday it was a lot more of the same fun but add in the filming time for the UCI Race and it wass another long day in the mud. But everyone kept the spirits good, Redman's announcing was again hilarious and Courtney got to be interviewed for the TV show.

Full results from the weekend are already posted on ABAbmx.com.

And we wish a speedy recovery to Yvan Lapraz who broke his arm again on Saturday.

It's 5:00 a.m. and Headed to the track today for the second round of the So.Cal Mudfest. We will post a full story with pictures tonite or Monday morning. Until then be sure to watch go211.com for live feed from the race, or keep an eye on BMXnow.com and BMXmania.com for updates.

Non race related from this weekend we have heard that there si a huge fire in Australia where Shane from BMXultra.com lives and that no one has heard from him in a few days. If anyone has any updates, we sure would appreciate a phone call or e-mail. Our prayers to everyone down there.

Yesterday was a long day getting ready for the ABA Perris National. It's always nice having a local national as you get to spend more time in the office gettign things done, which is great, and yesterday our office became the home away from home office for none other than BMXmania.com's Jerry Landrum. Jerry is a great guy and we were more than glad to give him some desk space and a wi-fi connection and learn how BMXmania.com ticks.

BMX Racing's longest running BMX News Source - Jerry Landrum of BMXmania.com

The only secret we were able to get out of Jerry is that you need lots of Mtn.Dew and your lap top.

Now while on the subject of websites, Mikey B has been playing around with our MySpace site. Little Allie started working on it and maintaining it a while ago, but yesterday while I was working on a new page design to match up with the new Uniforms and stuff, Mikey thought it would be cool to do up the MySpace site to match. So if you are a MySpace person check out the new layout and let us know what you think.

Another website that was updated yesterday was the new BMXnow.com website. Mike shot us an e-mail to check out some pics of Kris at practice down at Perris and when we clicked the link it brough up a whole new site for BMXnow.com.

SUpercross BMX - AA Pro Racer Kris Fox

Then right as the day was winding down, Jasen from MJT showed up to wrap the trailer for this weekend at Perris.

We started work on the trailer at about 5:00 after the regular workday and we finished up at 3:00 in the morning. Before Jason showed up we cleared out the part of the shop we needed to work on it so he would have as much room as he needed and we let him go to work.

First thing we had to do was lay out all the panels on the floor in order so it makes it easy to start the pattern.

And once Jasen got the back door done and a little pizza in him the rest of the trailer started to go pretty quickly.

Once the front, drivers side and back were done, then it came time to do the hard side, the passenger side with the door in the middle of the desgn.

Luckily Steve was quick on the draw for x-acto blades, squeegies and the blow torch. I thought this picture was funny as it is almost like Courtney is looking at them wondering what they are doing in this shot.

Then it was time for the last panel to be thrown on and time to get some rest for some great mud racing this weekend.

Might be a good weekend to bring goggles with tear off's, a pair of flat pedals and shoes, and little bit of a knobbier tire. I am thinking the vendors will sell a ton of BlueStreaks this weekend. As they work great dry or wet. More updates later.

Feb. 4th, 2009
Today was Mikey B's first official day helping out here at Supercross.

We're not quite sure what Mikey was doing when this photo was taken, but he got off to a great start on his BMX Industry career. Just because Mikey is helping out here part time does not mean he is slacking on his training, he is a workaholic, yesterday he did his sprints, his Gym session, handled a few of his on-line college courses, then headed over here to help us get caught up on some of the insanity then headed out to help with the Apple Valley BMX track and get his gates on to get ready for this weekend at the ABA National at Lake Perris. The kid is ADD just like the rest of us so he will get along just fine doing a zillion different things all at once just for the love of BMX. We should have his new e-mail addy running by the end of the week.

Yesterday we also did an interview with the New York Times on the effects of the new CPSIA law and it's impact on BMX. Even with the 1 year stay on fines from the CPSC we as an industry and a sport still have a lot of work ahead of us, hopefully the major press fo a large worldwide paper like the New York Times will get some more of the poloticians to sit up and realize what is going on.

More updates later in the week as we get ready for Lake Perris.

Feb. 2nd, 2009
The last month has been great with Sam being here to help out on things and this morning she boarded a plane to fly back home to get ready to head back to Switzerland to the UCI Center. We were sad to see her go but we know she will be back soon and she has a big goal ahead of her with the UCI European Rounds and getting prepped for London 2012. Now Sam is not the only one headed off to a UCI center this morning, Kris Fox is now on his way down to the UCI Center in Chula Vista. Both of them are getting prepped for a big journey. And we can't be more proud than to be along for the ride.

Also today we shipped out the last of the 26" BMX Frames. We have been having a little bit more interest lately, but seems that everyone is more interested in a MTB Version like our old MX26 rather than a straight up BMX 26". We do have a real cool Supercross 4x frame that we have been working on for the last year and a half,

so the possibilty of a return of the MX26 is possible. It is always fun to take your MTB for a little BMXing.

BMX can breath a huge, huge sigh of relief today as we officially have a 1 year stay on the CPSC's new law requiring the third party lead testing of Bicycles as toys. This is a great thing for the entire BMX industry and for the sport of BMX. Thank you to everyone who participated in the discussions, pettition filing and letter writing.

Jan.30th, 2009
Today was a crazy day trying to tie up some loose ends on the CPSC arguments, and I have to thank our riders for stepping up and helping out while things have been beyond crazy. We have had Samantha here helping out with things, and now Kris Fox and Mikey Brabant came in to help with packing and shipping orders and even brough thier guest for the week Clayborn's Barry Nobles and Barry jumped right in to help get product out the door. Thanks to all of them for thier help. Now after they got done helping at the shop they headed out to Apple Valley BMX to get thier ride on and for Kris to get his Pro Bike Inspection with BMX Plus! magazine. Benny came on out and used the new Apple Valley BMX track for a mini race bike shoot out and to shoot Kris at his first track from when he started racing to now for his Pro inspection. Wonder who out of the little guys out there now will be one of the fastest pro's of 2020. And of course he had a few of his teamates Courtney, Allie and Ashley out there to help heckle him along with Mikey and Barry while he got his photo shoot on.

Jan. 26th, 2009
In yesterdays update you can see the new 2009 Supercross Factory Jersey on Kenth as he is boosting the prosection, but Kris Fox didn't think that you could see enough of the detail so he rolled on in to show off the new colors.

And Kris is real stoked with how his Number and name came out on these.

Block did a great job and everyone is happy with the fit. Wait until you see some of the special Edition Jerseys for the Pro's. Kris and Mikey were scoping out Sammy's new jerseys today and thought they were pretty sick.

Now speaking of Mikey, yesterday we promised a sneak peak of some of the new 2009 goodies that will be available in late spring 2009. So with that in mind Mikey B rode on into the office this morning to pick up a few of the samples.

Mikey is going to deck out his bike in Black and Purple this year. For some reason Purple on the Pro size bikes might make a come back this year. Last year we put Jimmy Brown on a Custom Purple Supercross EVO G6e and everyone loved it. Here is a close up shot of Mikey's new Hubs and the Lightning Saddle.

The Bright Neons are also seeming to be very popular now. Samantha is on that Bright Neon Baby Blue Supercross, Courtney has asked us to paint some stuff Neon Orange for her, but now Kris Fox is taking it over the top. We did that custom Flashback Print for Kris's Supercross EVO S7 and everyone flipped, it has Neon Green, Neon Yellow, Neon Pink and Neon Blue. Well today we surprised him with a saddle in the same print.

These saddles will be available Spring 2009 and we know they are going to be hot sellers. We are also doing them in a pivotal version.

And in a White Version.

These are just a few sneak peaks of some of the new 2009 PRO Series Supercross BMX parts for this year. More sneak peaks later on.

Jan. 25th, 2009
Another great day of BMX racing in Guthrie. The battle for the Vet Pro Race is going to be great this year as Kenth and Purse battled all day again. John got the best of it both days with Kenth taking a pair of seconds for the weekend, but man what great racing action.

The above photo was borrowed from BMXnow.com and shows just how close the action was even while they were clearing the pro section. I also like how it shows off the new 2009 Supercross Factory Jersey. On the Pro side we also heard that Krystal Hime took a 4th for the day in Pro Women for On The Gate Films / Supercross.

On the Amateur side we have not heard much except the Little Johnnie MacIntyre made both class and cruiser mains today, and Brandon Little took a 5th in his Semi. No word from Brandon Macleod yet.

Check back tomorrow for some new 2009 Product info,

Jan. 24th, 2009
Ton's of great racing on Go211.com today at the ABA Guthrie Nationals. Kenth had a great day and was one of the few Vets jumping the Pro Section and finished the day with a strong second behind the Jackal John Purse.

The Vet Pro Class is having some great race action going on. In Mens Elite, congrats to our friend GT's Mikey Day. Mikey is flat out hauling and it was great to see him grab another win. On The Gate/ Supercross BMX's Mikey Brabant made it to quarters and just missed the semi today. The Mens Elite Class was stacked today. Mikey is feeling good for tomorrow and is looking to make the main. In Women's Pro Krystal Hime is back and took a 5th today for her new sponsor On The Gate / Supercross. It is nice to see Krystal back racing again. Her and her Dad Mark have been missed on the ABA circuit.

On the Amatuer side Brandon Macleod made both open and class today taking a 4th in open and a 5th in 15x for the day.

And huge congrats to RRC/Supercross' Brady MacPherson for taking the win in 15x today and 505/Supercross' HOJO Johnson who took the win in 21-25 cruiser after a long break from his broken ankle. More updates tomorrow.

Jan. 23rd, 2009
The first UCI North American Round is this weekend at the ABA Guthrie Nationals. Should be a great race, I know that Mike from BMXnow.com is already there and taking photos of the track. Looks like there is a little bit of R/C or Slot Car action going on in the infield.

And you can always watch the action live on go211.com and check BMXmania.com for the daily new updates.

Kenth is driving on in for the race hopefully picking up where he left off in RENO with a few more wins in the Vet Pro Class. Samantha was going to go, but is staying back in Arizona this weekend getting ready for the Perris race. Courtney, Jimmy and Kris are all also skipping this one to get ready for Perris. But there will be a few Supercross Pro's out there with Kenth thsi weekend as On the Gate Films / Supercross BMX Rider Mikey Brabant is ready to take the pack on this weekend in AA and Krystal Hime has decided to make a return to BMX racing and will be tearing up the Womens Pro class on her Supercross EVO iS. We have heard a rumor that she may be the newest On The Gate / Supercross BMX rider. We will keep you updated over the weekend.

On the Amatuer side of things, Brandon Little has made the trip out with the Supercamp Crew and is getting faster at every race. Brandon MacLeod is feeling healed up and wants to show everyone what the Canadaians can do down hee in the states and Little Johnny MacIntyre threw together a new Expert XL S7 yesterday and is ready to race. Kalvin Davis was supposed to be healed up for thsi race, but the Doctors told him he needs another 6 weeks for his collar bone to finish healing up. More updates later.

Jan. 22nd, 2009
Well in the midst of everyone running around trying to get CPSC ceritfied there was some great news for BMX yesterday! The ABA signed a 4 year deal with NBC Universal to televise the ABA / UCI Pro Nationals! Huge Thanks to the ABA for getting this done!

Be sure to check with your local cable provider to make sure you get NBC Universal in your area, and if you don't write them a nice note or a give them a quick call asking for it. And if that doesn't work, with the new DTV law, NBC Universal Sports is on most over the air Digital networks on channel 4.4.

Now with NBC Universal, Go211.com, Freecaster.tv, and the websites of BMXnow.com, BMXmania.com and BMXultra.com and the BMX magazines of BMXworld and BMX Plus! we now have more sources of news and information on our BMX racing than we have had in the last decade!

Jan. 18th, 2009
The NBL Coyote Nationals are going on now as we type this. The people at Estrella Mountain Track were great last year and we were hoping to go back this year, but unfortunately it did not fit into the schedule. The only rider we have there this weekend racing is our littlest rider 7x, Tucker Norman. We have not heard from him yet how he did. But Samantha is also there watching the racing and getting ready for next weekends ABA/UCI Pro National in Guthrie, OK. Now while she has been in Arizona, she has been training with her long time friend and touring partner with Supercamps, Bubba Harris. Who we heard went down hard yesterday after winning his first moto. We don't know all the details but we heard he crashed and took a bar to the chest and cracked a few ribs. Bubba is one of the winningest AA's this sport has ever seen and also one of the best with the kids. He has had a rough few years with injury and we wish him the best with this and hope it is not too bad so he can get back on track at full speed soon. More updates later.

Jan. 14th, 2009
It has been pretty darn busy at the Supercross BMX offices lately. Between the start of the year and the new CPSC regulations we have been slammed. Luckily Sam showed up to work around the office and handle more of the team manager duties and help with some of the World Wide Distribution.

I think she was getting bored with the reports though and decided to head out to go ride though. Interesting fact though is that 47% of our websites visitors are from outside the United States Of America. Last month we had visitors to the website from 135 countries.

Now in the United States we have a new CPSC situation to conform with for lead testing in the paint and materials. It is called the CPSIA and requires some pretty expensive testing to make our product legal in the United States. Jerry over at BMXmania.com and Shane at BMXultra.com along with Mike at BMXnews.com have all posted a link to an online petition that JJ at Aggrobikes.com started. I con't know if it will help, but hey if you feel like adding your name to the petition to help try to lessen the costs on your future BMX products give it a read and sign on up if you are over 18.

The link to it is here. http://www.petitiononline.com/BMXCPSC/petition.html

If it keeps up, BMX racers may be like the old moonshiners of years past where our BMX bikes are illegal and we will all be outlaws. Yeah nothing new to us BMXers, we have always ran against the grain a bit.

Jan. 11th, 2009
Kenth doubles for the weekend taking the Vet Pro Wins, both days!

Kenth showed up and was ready to race and proove that taking all 3 titles last year wasn't a fluke. There was great racing in the Vet Class this weekend. If you have not been paying attention to the Vet Pro Class, you need to as the competition is just as fierce as AA Pro.

In the Women's Pro Class Samantha showed up for the ABA Season Opener and this was her first regular BMX race for almost a year while she took time off from the regular ABA and NBL BMX Seasons while getting ready to go to the 2008 Olympics.

The Women's Pro Class has also stepped up to a new level while Sam was gone. There were plenty of crashes and takeouts and a ton of fast racing. Samantha showed up this weekend just wanting to have fun, and fun she had, with making the Women's Pro Main both days along with team mate Courtney Tomei.

On the Amatuer side almost all of the riders made thier mains. Highlights include Little Allie winning Cruiser on Sunday, Kyliegh taking a second in 17-27 Women on Sunday, Pliska making the first ever 41x Main on Saturday, but on the low side, Amanda Little Crashed real bad on Saturday dislocating her shoulder, and the Shraders came down with food poisioning on Saturday night, but Ashley still gutted it out and made both mains on Sunday, but had nothing in her to get her to the line in front. Full results are up on the ABAbmx.com website.

Still having trouble getting used to typing in the 2009 part of the updates. Well by now a few of you are in Reno, and you have already seen Samantha wandering around getting ready to race this weekend. Yes it is true after a year and a half break from ABA competition get ready to go to the Olympics, Samantha is back home where she has won 2 ABA #1 Pro Plates in the past. The last time Samantha was in Reno she doubled. This weekend she just plans on having fun. But usually her fun is winning, so just be prepared to see Sam having fun on the track in her new Supercross/ No Fear gear.

Yep, after the last 6 years in Oneal gear, they like everyone else in the world had to make some budget cuts. Luckily for us, Samantha and Kris all thought the No Fear gear looked great, and No Fear has an interest in BMX again, so we worked out a deal to have the team running No Fear for 2009. Samantha and Kris both drove down yesterday to pick up the PRO gear, and No Fear is overnighting the gear for the amateurs to the hotel. That along with BLOCK driving up our new jerseys for the weekend we should be looking pretty good out there on the track. Samantha helped with the new Jersey design while she was here and is pretty excited to show it off this weekend. And While Sam and Kenth are flying around the track this weekend, Jasen from MJT and Mike from BMXnow.com are going to be getting photos of them and the rest of the team for a new Supercross BMX poster for 2009 as well as George from On The Gate Films getting some exclusive footage for a new Supercross BMX DVD!! Sounds like to a great start to the year to us. Be sure to be checking back all weekend long for updates from the 2009 ABA season opener in lovely Reno, NV!!!

We have never watched the MTV hit show "The Hills" but Samantha said it was one of her guilty pleasures. Well now that "The Hills" has ended, Brody Jenner has his new show on MTV "Bromance". Last night was the second episode of the season and it had what they called the Bro-Athalon, and it included BMX. If you saw it you watched them jump thier BMX bikes at the Whittier Narrow BMX track over 5 Barrels. And to all the eagle eyes that called in today, yes Brody Jenner's personal bike is a Supercross.

Seems that we are getting more and more Supercross BMX bikes on some pretty big T.V Shows.

I think more than a few people have been surprised when they called in today and had Samantha answer the phone.

2009 Supercross BMX Pro's Samantha Cools and Kris Fox - A preview of the 2012 Olympic Games!

Sam decided to fly on down, help around the office, get used to her team manager duties , help finish up the 2009 Supercross Factory Team Uniforms, and hit up all the local tracks practice. On Friday she was down at the Orange Y where she got to ride with Warwick, Javier, TB and others, Saturday was at the Apple Valley BMX with team mate Kris Fox, and then on Sunday at the Perris Speedway. Tonite she is back on her way down to Perris to get more track time in with Courtney. So if you are in Southern California at any BMX track this week, you are most likely going to see Sam around.

Now we have been promising more International Team Updates, so here are two more for today. The fastest rider to ever come out of Norway has got to be Anders Gronsund,

not only is he a super fast BMXer he also has one of the best attitudes and loves helping give back to the sport of BMX, so if you are in Europe give Anders a big congratulations for being a part of the Supercross BMX World Team. Anders threw together a new 2009 EVO iS to get his training on while he gets ready to race the 2009 UCI European Circuit.

In the photo he is still running the Answer Scythe forks, he like Kris are waiting for our new 2009 Supercross Pro LT forks next week.

Now another rider handpicked by Samantha for the Supercross BMX World Team is none other than one of the fastest girls to ever come out of France, Amelie Despeaux.

Amelie has prooven herself to be one of the most consistant riders on the UCI Supercross and UCI European circuit and is one of the friendliest riders I have met from France. When Samantha started putting the Supercross BMX World Team together this is the only other woman that she could think of to race the European circuit with her. You can see Amelie's sese of humor when she sent in her photo of her new 2009 Supercross EVO iS.

More news updates later this week.

Happy New Year Everyone! Hope everyone had a safe New Year and you are looking forward to a great new year of BMX! To start the new year off right , lets start with a bit of new rider news. As we have been hinting we have a new AA Pro joining the Supercross BMX family, and we think it will be a great addition to the family as he is just as friendly as he is fast. He has won a few titles lately and is ready to attack the AA Pro class with a vengence. Non other than local friend and rider, Kris Fox!

Supercross BMX AA Pro Racer - Kris Fox

Kris is still healing up from his broken ankle from the UCI race in France, but will be ready to hit the track in full Factory Supercross BMX Colors in time for the ABA Perris Pro /UCI National. Kris has already come by and thrown together a new Supercross EVO S7 with a custom set of graphics.

Supercross BMX AA pro Kris Fox with his first Supercross S7

This is just his first bike to get up and running on Supercross gear, keep your eyes peeled for what he will be running at Perris. The style he has planned will blow you away.

Now while this announcement would normally be enough for a Pro announcement, we have a little bit more for the day. Everyone who knows Kris, knows that he is best frends with another fast AA Pro, Mr. Mikey Brabandt.

Mikey has been one of the underdogs of the AA Pro Class but is constantly in the mains and always sneaking up on the podium. Well, we needed to have the Dynamic Duo, and Mikey is loyal to his current sponsor George from On the Gate Films, so we worked out a deal to have Mikey ride our new 2009 Supercross R-CR cro-mo frame while riding for On The Gate Films / Supercross. So while Kris was putting together his new S7, Mikey was putting together a new R-CR.

Mikey will be in Reno for the ABA season opener so be sure to check out his new ride as it will most likey be the only cro-mo frame in the AA Mains.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for more team updates on the International front.
